Panhala
Panhala
is situated 20 km. away from the industrial city of Kolhapur. Panhala is a hill
resort situated at an altitude of 977.2 m. This fort was built by King Bhoja between
1178-1209.It is the largest of all Deccan forts.
Amboli
It is
a hill resort, in the Sahyadri mountains at an altitude of 690 m. This place is
surrounded by thick forests and verdant hills and valleys. Nagarta falls and Narayangadh

Bahubali
In
1935 Celibacy Resort was established and named after the sage Bahubali who mediated
here about 300 years before. On this hill, there are ancient temples but the new
idol was recently installed here under the auspices of His Holiness.
Khidrapur
Kopeshwar
temple at Khidrapur is a treasure-house of beautifully carved sculptures and a
rare architectural marvel. There is a semi-circular platform resting on the back
of 92 carved stone elephants on which the temple is built.
Kaneri Math
About
500 years ago, Lingayat Priest Kadsiddheshwar developed this math. It is said
that in the 14th century Shiva-Pindi was installed by a Lingayat Priest on this
high hill. There are two small mandaps out side, with a big Nandi .On Shivratri,
devotees from Maharashtra and Karnatak state gather here.
Narasimha
Wadi
Narasimha Wadi is 45 km away from Kolhapur. This is situated on the
confluence of rivers Krishna and Panchaganga and is renowned for the holy `Padukas'
(wooden slippers) of Shree Dattaguru. Shree Narasimha Saraswati who was an incarnation
of Shree Dattaguru lived here for 12 years.
Jyotiba
Situated
at a height of 3100 feet above sea level. This is 17 km. away from Kolhapur. Jyotiba
is supposed to be incarnation of 3 Gods-Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh and seer Jamadagni.
Ramteerth
According
to a fable, Lord Ram stayed at this place during exile, so the place is named
Ramteerth. This place is in Ajra taluka. There is a temple of Shri Rama near the
river. An old coffee plantation and an orchard are also the places where you can
have a visit.
